1. Who we are

Classic Filters Ltd. («Classic Filters», «we», «us») is a UK manufacturer of stainless steel filter housings and filter elements. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

This policy applies to www.classicfilters.com and its translated versions (the «Site»). It explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What data we collect

Enquiries and quotes. If you contact us by email, phone or a form on the Site, or request a quote, literature or samples, we collect your name, company, job title, email address, phone number, country and the content of your message.

Distributor and customer records. For our distributors and customers we hold business contact details, order and delivery details, and correspondence.

Newsletter and marketing. We do not currently send a newsletter. If we introduce one, we will only add you if you subscribe, and we will then hold your name, email address and subscription preferences.

Website usage data. When you visit the Site we collect, through cookies and similar technologies, your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, the page you came from, approximate location and how you interact with the Site.

Advertising data. If you arrive from one of our Google Ads or Microsoft Advertising adverts, we receive data about the advert you clicked and what you do on the Site afterwards.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and we do not collect special category data through the Site.

4. Cookies, analytics and advertising tags

When you first visit the Site, a cookie banner asks you to accept cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are always used; the others are only used if you accept.

We use:
— Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads – we use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics 4 (to measure how the Site is used) and Google Ads conversion tracking (to measure the results of our Google adverts, including enquiries and calls from the Site, and ad click measurement). — Microsoft Advertising (Universal Event Tracking, «UET») – to measure results of our Microsoft Advertising and Bing adverts. More information: Microsoft Privacy Statement.
— Cookie notice – a cookie that records your cookie choice.
— Site and language functions – cookies that remember your language and keep the Site working.
— Social links and short links – our posts on X, LinkedIn and Facebook may use shortened links (filt.co), which can record that a link was clicked.

You can withdraw consent or change your cookie settings at any time by clearing the cookies for our Site in your browser, then choosing again when the banner reappears. You can also block cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of personalised Google advertising at Google Ads Settings. The Site will still work, but some features may be affected.

5. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
— Service providers that act on our instructions, including our website hosting provider (WP Engine), our content delivery and security provider (Cloudflare), our email provider (Microsoft 365), and our website, analytics and advertising providers (Google and Microsoft) described above.
— Our distributors, where you ask us to put you in touch with one in your region.
— Professional advisers, regulators and authorities where we are required to by law.
— A successor business if our business is sold or restructured.

6. International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK we make sure there is an appropriate safeguard, such as the UK adequacy regulations, the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

7. How long we keep your data

  • Enquiry and quote correspondence: normally up to 6 years after our last contact, to deal with any claim or query.
  • Customer and accounting records: as long as UK law requires (normally 6 years).
  • Marketing subscriptions (if introduced): until you unsubscribe.
  • Cookie and analytics data: the periods set by the relevant cookie, usually up to 24 months.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to our use of it, receive it in a portable format and withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to deal with your concern first.

9. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls and secure hosting.

10. Links to other sites

The Site links to other websites, including our sister site www.ngvfilters.com, distributors and social networks. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The «last updated» date at the top shows when it was last changed.
