Classic Filters manufactures custom porous PTFE sensor filters for humidity and temperature transmitters for various OEM customers. Sintered PTFE Filters for Sensors 100% pure Teflon filters use a sintered structure and offer exceptional hydrophobic properties. PTFE Filters with Special Dimensions Sensor filters can be manufactured with open or closed ends to fit the sensor that…
Are you looking for alternatives to M&C filter elements? We offer fully interchangeable types from stock at realistic prices.
Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Acid Wash Filters. The Acid Wash (AW) filter elements capture excess ammonia that may be introduced into the sample stream. Since this wash consists of a chemical bond between ammonia (NH3) and washed (phosphoric) acid, the filter elements improve the protection of sensitive equipment. Protect your analyzer from ammonia residues. Measurement…
Element dimensions – Disposable microfibre types Understanding part numbers is never an easy task. So we thought we would break ours down and explain what the significance is of each number; thus making it easier for our customers to know what they require, when ordering disposable filter elements How the part number is arranged Filter…
We are often asked why seals are needed on our stainless steel filter elements. Because the 5-layer filter elements are sintered together it forms a rigid structure and unlike the disposable filter elements they cannot be sealed by axial compression. The seals are available in a number of types and details can be found in the data sheet here. The most common types…
Diesel Exhaust Analyser Filter Housings Many for our distributors and customers have asked us how specific products in our range work? So we have produced a video to cover this topic and show in this video the benefits of our “Diesel Exhaust Analyser Filter Housings“. Our filter housings are designed to be heated easily using a…
We reconvene our two part guide on how Filter Elements work by explaining the science behind their success. Here we explain how filter elements that separate solid particles and liquid aerosols from a gas use a combination of different physical principles to help get the gas as pure as possible. Filtration makes use of – Brownian…
To help you understand how filters work and make sure that you are purchasing the best product for your situations we have made a two part guide to go over our elements. What is the difference between a depth filter and surface filter element? This is a good place to start as this is a…
From our online and social activities we have been learning and improving the pitfalls of the legacy way in which manufacturers and distributors operate with each other. As a modern company we want to close these boundaries and make life and sales for everyone much easier. With this in mind, our new four-page Product Range Overview Brochure makes it easy to see…
Fibrous filters, especially those manufactured by Classic Filters from borosilicate glass microfibers, are considered to be the most ideal filter media for the removal of liquid aerosols from gases – this is called coalescing filter. Borosilicate Glass Microfibers for Coalescing Filters Borosilicate glass microfibers are naturally hydrophobic and do not adsorb liquid – the aerosols…

Due to customer demand we have added 40 micron grades to our stock of PTFE Filter Elements. The 40 micron grade will join the existing grades of 2 and 20 micron and give more flexibility when choosing the correct filter housing and element for your application PTFE Filter Element Construction Applications for these types of filter are very demanding so we produce our PTFE Filter Elements by…
As the filter starts to work solids are removed by the microfibres and the porous structure of the filter element is slowly filled. This will increase the pressure drop across the filter element. The disposable filter elements are designed to have an initial pressure drop of 0.1 bar when used on gas applications. Our disposable bonded microfibre…
An application which is becoming ever more popular is the reclamation of precious metals with the use of our liquid filters. This is often from plating processes, but also can be from machining and other production methods where small particles of precious metals are held in a liquid suspension. If the metals to be recovered…
Generally engineers required to install a filter on a pressurised fluid system will go for the cheapest possible option. More often than not this will also be a sintered powder or granule filter element where it can be cleaned out and the element doesn’t need replaced very often. What is wrong with a sintered powder…
Anyone who has seen filters in action will know it is not an uncommon sight to find filters fitted with a simple gauze filter element. But what happens when a mesh filter is just not enough? These kind of filters are only intended for stopping large particles, they are often used in lines where scale,…
